Special Education Teacher

Full Time

Potential Development is seeking qualified candidates to work in a classroom setting with students diagnosed with autism. Candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing an effective educational program for the students assigned to their classroom and ensuring adherence to all standards set forth by the Ohio Department of Education. Teachers will work collaboratively with all members of the support team.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education - Special Education preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with autism
  • Ability to complete all special education paperwork and monitor student progress.
  • Valid Ohio Education License
  • Ability to pass an FBI/BCI background check
Qualities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Flexibility and tolerance in a variety of situations, with the ability to calmly and effectively deal with student behavior
  • Willingness and aptitude to act as a strong role model and demonstrate appropriate social behaviors.

Teacher Assistant

Full Time

Potential Development is seeking qualified candidates to work in a classroom setting with students diagnosed with autism.  Teacher assistants are responsible for working cooperatively with the classroom teacher, providing one-on-one educational assistance to students, and supporting the students, families and staff as needed.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities required and preferred college related course work. Certifications in CPR, First Aid and behavior management a plus.

Education & Experience
