Elementary & Middle School

Welcome Elementary & Middle School Students

Grades 1–6
Monday–Friday | 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

At Potential Development Elementary/Middle School, we provide individualized instruction for students in first through sixth grade. Our team works together to help each student reach their fullest potential academically, socially and personally.

We use the TEACCH approach, which incorporates structured teaching, visual supports, organizational strategies and predictable environments to help students with autism become more confident and independent.

Our curriculum follows Ohio’s Learning Standards and Extended Learning Standards in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Report cards are issued quarterly to keep families informed of their child’s progress in each subject area.

In addition to academic instruction, students receive support in developing social, communication, adaptive and life skills. Physical, occupational and speech therapy are also available for students who qualify.

Students in grades 3–6 participate in the applicable Ohio state assessment or alternate assessment, as identified in their Individualized Education Program (IEP). Students in grades 1–6 also complete the TerraNova assessment each September to help measure academic growth across content areas.
